Placing an Order

All photos on this site are hosted by GotPhoto, who also facilitate all sales. While ordering is designed to be completely self service and easy, if you find yourself having trouble placing an order, please click the menu link “How to Order” for tips. Once you place your order, the process is largely automated and usually it's not possible to make changes before the prints ship. Prints ship from New York and usually arrive within 10 days with standard shipping. Digital downloads are available immediately.

Cropping Prints

Most portraits are photographed with a 2x3 aspect ratio and most class or class/group/team photos have a 4x5 aspect ratio (as with most things in life there are exceptions). Typically this means portraits are naturally 4x6 prints and class/group/team photos are naturally 8x10 prints. If you order a print with a different aspect ratio, some part of the image must be cropped out to fit the image to the print size. Automatically, the gallery will crop all images to the top/center and you will see a preview of the cropping during checkout to make sure this crop is acceptable. If not, you can easily adjust the cropping before placing the order. Once you complete the order process, your order will be cropped and printed as your preview showed and usually can't be stopped before it ships.

Placing Orders for More Than One Subject

If you have more than one child at a school, the link you receive from GotPhoto should give you access to all of them. Once you’ve added photos to your cart, go back to your gallery and look for the folder for your other child/ren. Pro tip - if you add photos from all your children into a single order, you only pay for shipping once. If you place an order for each child individually, you will be charged shipping for each order. Where is My Order?

If you order prints with standard shipping, you will usually receive them in about 10 days in the continental United States. Downloads are available immediately via the link emailed to you by GotPhoto. Since standard shipping usually means delivery by the post office, it's possible the delay is due to backlogs at your local post office.

Downloading Digital Images

If you've completed purchasing any digital photo, you will get an email from GotPhoto within a minute or two containing a download link. Check your inbox and junk folder for that email and link.

Do You Offer Phone Support?

As a small business, we often don't have anyone in the office since the same people handling inquiries are the same people out taking photos. We also find that in nearly all cases, the solution to an inquiry is to email a link, a password, or to ask the school secretary for something, so email is usually the best medium for the fastest solution. If you have questions about something that this page or the How to Order page can’t sort out, please email hello@blue.photo.

Do You Offer Discounts?

We offer discounts in two ways. The first is through packages, which offer significant discounts over ordering items a la carte. While we can’t make bespoke packages on request, do let us know if you’d prefer to see a different package option. We periodically adjust package offerings based on customer feedback, usually in the summer. The second discount is the 20% Early Bird Discount, which is typically the first 10-14 days after the gallery is available. This is a coupon code automatically applied to your shopping cart and you’ll see the discount while going through the checkout process. If you miss this early bird window, the code will not be applied and you won’t see the discount at checkout. We encourage you to order in the early bird period!

We don’t generally offer any other discounts, but have made exceptions in cases where parents introduce us to another school in their family or hire us to take portraits of their office, etc. Let us know and we’re happy to chat!

Do You Offer Refunds?

Because digital products are infinitely duplicatable, they cannot be returned. Physical prints cannot be resold if returned, so unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds on products once they are delivered. However, we will do everything we can to make it right if something goes wrong. Please contact us at hello@blue.photo if you have any sort of issue.

Do You Offer Other Services?

Yes we do! All our photographers are professionals who do all kinds of photography when not photographing schools. While we love working with children, we're pretty good with adults too.
